What information do you have on Rosie The Riveter?
"Rosie the Riveter" is most famously recognized through the "We Can Do It" poster and is a significant symbol of the American feminist movement. Similar images emerged worldwide, including in Britain and Australia, but the concept of "Rosie the Riveter" originally came from a song written in 1942 by Redd Evans and John Jacob Loeb.
The Henry Ford (THF) does not have information about the "original Rosie," but we have compiled a bibliography on women workers at Ford Motor Company (FMC) for your reference. Some of our photographs are available online in the collection Women Workers (1939-1949). Additionally, we have many more images in the THF collections that can be found through a keyword search.
Please note that THF does not possess personnel or employee records for FMC, as those records are maintained by FMC. You can find instructions for contacting FMC here.
