How do I care for historical materials?

Our in-house conservation staff has developed a set of Preservation Fact Sheets to assist in caring for historical materials. These fact sheets provide basic information on the care, cleaning, and handling of a particular type of artifact, referral information to other conservation organizations, and a bibliography of authoritative works. If you require the services of a conservator, we recommend contacting the American Institute for Conservation. They will be able to find a conservator in your area specializing in the type of object you have.
